The center of Uttaradit was fully destroyed by fire in 1967. The city has been rebuilt and is split in two parts. The newly rebuilt old part of the city stretches from the River Nan to the Railway Station. New town Uttaradit has developed about 2 kms away around the bus station. In the surroundings of Uttaradit you can find many interesting archaeological sites, some of them not even fully excavated. On Ban Pak Noi Dam you can find floating restaurants and enjoy the sundown.
