For many years, the Trang Chamber of Commerce organizes every February at Valentine's Day the Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony where dozens of bridal couple celebrate their wedding. The costs per bridal couple are about 25,000 Baht, per guest 7,500 Baht (including the flight from Bangkok). Information and application at www.underwaterwedding.com. Travel agencies in town also arrange underwater weddings (in Thai: Kin Niao, Tai Lae) at particularly auspicious days of the Buddhist calender and at romantic beaches for 30,000 to 40,000 Baht. Special wedding packages are offered for foreign bridal couples and for handicapped couples.
Vegetarian Festival
The spectacular Vegetarian Festival takes place in September/October. During this time the room rates for hotels and guesthouses will increase. The exact dates are available at the TAT office from March onwards.
