This place is managed by a lovely lady, Apple, with her husband Larry from Canada. She speaks English fluently and also some German. Apple Cafe is an “all-in-one-Café”. Large mugs of freshly brewed coffee with fresh milk is served, (a rarity on this beach), breakfast, fruit shakes, homemade bread and cookies they sell jewellery, clothes, books in different languages and tickets for the train/bus and boat. They are always willing to help with all kinds of travelers needs. There is a small terrace which is also frequented by people on rainy days and it is a popular meeting place.

Across the road, not facing the beach, this restaurant is situated just next to Chuan Phun Lodge. On the menu you find Scandinavian food, such as homemade cakes with cinnamon, steaks, gratins, meat balls in mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes. Very popular is the “Wiener Schnitzel”. The friendly Finnish/Swedish manager, Jan Fagerström, has plans for the next season to build, sell and rent “Scandinavian Style Villas”. It is open from 4 pm until 11 pm,on Mondays they are closed.

This restaurant is furnished with beautiful wooden furniture and it is situated on the road to Saphlee, about 400 m away from the northern end of the beach. It’s worth while to take this short walk! The owner is an energetic Swiss woman called Ann, with the Thai nickname “Ryn”. She grew up in two cultures and she loves cooking - the result is freshly prepared dishes like Swiss national dishes and traditional Thai food, chocolate cake, Italian coffee specialties and many other delicacies. Highly recommended are steaks, soups and lasagne. There is free WIFI and it is very fast and reliable, internet for guests is free of charge.
Coffee Nest Restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.

The Krua K. Had Restaurant is on the beach just opposite to the “Kehad Resort”. Recently they have expanded and built a beach bar with a billiard table. Sitting in small bamboo huts you can enjoy many choices of Thai food. There most famous dishes are various fish dishes. Highly recommended is the fried fish with garlic and mango salad.

Everything can be found here that the travelers heart desires. That is why it became the meeting place on the beach. Locals and long term tourists, regular customers, divers and kite surfers, music lovers, song writers and guitarists meet here in the beach bar, or in the small hut where the restaurant is located, or sitting on comfortable tree trunks watching the sea. To dance barefoot in the sand to reggae music and to rock music from the seventies or to listen to the guitar player and enjoy a drink or two. The food is very good, it embraces burgers and pizzas as well as fried fish and rice. Expect to wait a little longer than usual for meal preparation. During high season they often make barbeques here. The large hammock for several people is highly suitable for counting shooting stars..and making a wish! The Bar and the Mali Blues Guesthouse as well is managed by the friendly couple Nong and Boy. They speak English very well and they sometimes play the instruments themselves.

Noyna Restaurant is located on the northern end of the road, about 120 m from the beach and it is a cozy, family-run restaurant. Thai food is very delicious here and especially it is very famous for its special dishes from Isarn. Noy rents beautiful new houses and rooms in a row house. It is open from 7 am to 5 pm, closed on Thursdays.

Only a few tables in a small passage vertical to the beach road, it is located next to Chuan Phun Lodge. Good service and inexpensive, Thai and European food. Unfortunately there are a lot of smokers inside and the tables outside are very close to the road.

On the northern end of the road along the beach. They also have 2 bungalows with air con for rent for 800 Baht/per night. You can sit comfortably either on the large terrace facing the road or in small bamboo huts on the beach. They offer good authentic Thai food, but it doesn’t always contain what you have ordered and it’s a little bit more expensive than other comparable restaurants. The fantastic mango salad is very popular and compensates you for the relatively slow and unfriendly service.

Phutalay Restaurant is situated at the uttermost southern end of the bay, at the foot of a hill and on the cape surrounded by big rocks, there are several romantic huts for sitting and eating, generously spread out around the ground far apart from other establishments on the beach. To get there you either walk along the beach from Chumphon Cabana Resort to the South or you go by motorcycle. You take the small scenic road along the coast towards Chumphon and when you see the Pepsi Sign (written in Thai) you turn left onto a dirt road and continue until the end. It’s a rather quiet place without many guests. The English menu offers a large choice of typical Thai dishes and seafood dishes. Mr Tanachai and his family are very nice and always strive to satisfy the demands of their guests. The meal portions are large and the food is tasty and it is just dreamlike to enjoy the view of the whole bay at any time.

The Rabieng Talay is an exclusive beach restaurant with a beach bar; covered terrace and a large choice of special, excellent dishes with organically grown rice and vegetables from their own garden and a fantastic buffet for breakfast. (Thai and international) as well. Every day they offer fresh seafood specialties and fish of different varieties. The service is excellent and very friendly, but the waiters sometimes do not speak English so well. Overall highly recommended.

You will get the impression you are on a boat when you sit on the narrow beach terrace and you watch the sea at the restaurant, White Beach Bar. At the same time you enjoy the excellent freshly caught seafood in different variations, fruit cocktails or fried bananas with honey. The music here is Thai hip hop or American Indie-Pop. On the walls and in the sideboards you see the relics of many decades of music history and lifestyle from all over the world - a bar with a lot of character! And with very delicious food as well. Besides that there is a shop for beach wear, a tattoo artist and a female hair stylist offering their services; massage and internet available. You can rent bicycles, tandems, motorcycles and cars.

The last location on the furthermost northern end of the beach. The friendly Thai/French couple Chris and Nut are managing this small bar/coffeehouse, Sabai Sabai. There is a billiard table, fresh espresso and free WIFI for people who have notebooks. Some bamboo huts for sitting are on the comfortable beach terrace, the bar and some tables are in front, facing the road. Besides delicious breakfasts and good drinks, relaxing atmosphere and hip hop and reggae music to chill out, they also sell tickets for train/bus/boat and they offer trips for snorkeling and diving. Chris organizes “Visa Runs” with no extra charges, very uncomplicated and he always has the latest information regarding visa regulations. You can order food here from the neighboring restaurant “Paa Nus”.

Tawan Restaurant is very good but unfortunately it closes at 9 pm. The menu offers excellent choices and inexpensive prices, very delicious sea food dishes and Thai dishes, fruit shakes, spaghetti and American breakfast.

To Tee Bar and Restaurant is set on a bamboo terrace on the road opposite the beach. The owners are a Scandinavian/Thai couple. They serve pancakes, muesli and yogurt for breakfast. Motorcycles are available to rent but not in the best condition. You can rent kayaks also.

Ton Sadou is situated on the corner when the road along the beach turns to the right towards Chumphon, just across from the police station. Ton Sadou’s Restaurant is popular and offers European breakfast, shakes, ice cream, snacks and Thai food. The sweet and sour Tom Yum Soup is highly recommended here. Open every day from 8 am to 11 pm.

Located next to Ton Sadou, Tongka Non Seafood is managed by a friendly, elderly man. This simple restaurant offers good choices of authentic and freshly prepared Thai and seafood dishes. Especially recommended are the curries. For dessert a plate of fresh fruit is served free of charge. Open every day from 8 am to 12 pm.
