"If you consider to skip Phang Nga Bay because you do not like to travel among masses of tourists, I suggest that you think twice.
Why not go with a private tour that takes you everywhere without seeing another tourist? It is just a matter of good timing, and you might enjoy the excursion of a lifetime."

The detailed description of these tours is available on the webpage
www.t-globe.com/14915
One of them is a 3-in-1 world class kayaking trip with 3 completely different kayak trips in one day: on a jungle river, on a tidal mangrove river and in a limestone cave in close contact to awe inspiring stalactites.
She also arranges a 4 hour jungle trekking in Khao Lak-Lamru National Park on hiking trails that even the locals do not know. This trek leads mostly in the shade through extremely beautiful vegetation with many flowers hardly ever seen. Soon she will be able to arrange a mountain bike trip through this beautiful national park.

Koh Panyi (เกาะปันหยี) (PhangNga)

Koh Panyi is a small island in the Bay of Phang Nga. Koh Panyi consists of a tall limestone hill and a small plain land area. This is a Muslim community. It is well known in Thailand for being built on stilts by Indonesian fishermen.

The population consists of roughly 200 families or between 1500 and 2000 people who descended from two seafaring Muslim families from Java. The settlement at Koh Panyi was established at the end of the 18th century by Indonesian fisher families. Around the village are floating baskets to keep fish in the water. There are also many restaurants, a school, souvenir shops and a few tourist residences on the island. The Muslim people here are still today fishermen and sellers of souvenirs and preserved seafood. Their main income nowadays derives from being a "must" stopover for the many tour boats passing to the famous James Bond Island.

Koh Panyi is in Phang Nga Bay, which is situated between Krabi and the island of Phuket in the south of Thailand.

Koh Hong - Attractions
Koh Hong (เกาะห้อง) (PhangNga)

Koh Hong (Room Island) is a limestone island completely surrounded by a cliff so that it looks like a huge hall with one entrance. There are many islands like this in the Bay of Phang Nga.

Access to these islands is only by a narrow cave. Due to the low cave roof, only kayaks can get through the channel at a suitable water level. Entering the sunlit hall from the dark cave gives an immense feeling of the creative power of nature. The unique experience of entering this natural wonder in solitude will remain with you for the rest of your life.
The area is also good for swimming.
The first person to detect the hongs inside the towering limestone cliffs was John Gray, an adventurous American. He had seen similar rock formations on Fiji and investigated the Bay of Phang Nga with the first inflatable sea kayak. He then started his sea canoe company in order to show other nature lovers this marvel. In 1991 Richard and Ursula Doring were among his first highly impressed customers and subsequently described their experience in the Loose Guide Book.

Most hongs are in the Bay of Phang Nga and can be accessed with one of the numerous sea kayak tour companies from Phuket or on a Phang Nga Bay Tour from Phuket, Khao Lak or Krabi.
So far only the private 5 Highlight Tour, organized by Yui and Gaeng from Sita Garden in Khao Lak, visits the hongs without any other tourists in the area.
Several islands along the Andaman Coast are called Koh Hong due to their natural features. All of them are certainly worth a visit.

Fishermen work there to clean and repair their nets and fish traps. Camping is possible on this tiny island. The sea water is quite clear; good for relaxing and swimming.

Sirivannavari (Koh Tachai) (เกาะตาชัย) (KhaoLak)

The solitary Tachai Island lies about halfway between the Similan and Surin Islands in the Andaman Sea, about one and a half hours drive by speedboat from Thap Lamu.

Tachai Island has a beautiful white powdered beach. There is no accommodation available.
There are several dive sites with abundant marine life, the most famous is the plateau. The Tachai Reef extends along the east coast and gently drops from 5 to 30 metres. Manta Rays are often found here, Whale Sharks not so often. Usually divers can also see Leopard Sharks and Jenkin's Rays. Common are also various Barracudas, Batfish, Bluefin Trevally, Snappers, Triggerfish and Fusiliers.
In 2009 Khaolak Highlight Tour made the first trip to Koh Tachai. It was a wonderful day trip to a most beautiful beach with no people around. Gang made a seafood barbecue on the beach and every guest enjoyed this wonderful day trip. Soon other tour agencies copied her trip, started price cutting to get customers and as a consequence this trip became a standard package with the usual Thai service.
