The provincial capital Phattalung is situated on the Southern Line of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT).
All long distance trains stop at the railway station near the center of town.
The north-south highway, Phetkasem Highway H4, passes 4 km to the west of town. A large flyover replaces the former junction. The new bus terminal is far away from the town center north of Tesco Lotus.
From the Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal there are more than two aircon buses departing in the morning and evening to Phattalung.
All Hat Yai buses may stop near the junction.
From Phattalung there are buses for all neighbouring provinces.
From there the same buses drive back to Phattalung at nearly the same time.

There are 7 trains departing from Bangkok to the south that stop in Phattalung.
From Hat Yai there are 6 trains per day stopping in Phattalung.
