Wat Phratat Doi Saket is the main temple of the village. Majestically located on a hill the temple can be seen from far away. You can either take the stairs that lead to the top of the hill or the road that commences behind the market. The yellow songthaews also take you up there. You can also find a coffee shop and a massage place on the area. After visiting the main temple you can go further up the hill you get to the construction site of the temple´s extension. Not many people are up here. You can find cages with birds, rabbits and various other small animals. The new part of the temple is supposed to be finished by 2015.

Jungle Flight Eco Adventure is a Zip lining Park in the mountains of Doi Saket, about an hours drive from Chiang Mai City. Jungle Flight uses an exclusive two cable safety system along with Petzl equipment. For safety reasons there is a weight limit of 120kg. Prices are either 2,200 Baht or 2600 Baht depending on the package you choose. They include lunch and Pick Up from your location.

Flight of the Gibbon is a Zip lining Park in the middle of the rainforest about 30 kilometres from the city of Chiang Mai. It is designed and engineered by New Zealand specialists and 10 % of the profit goes to conservation projects. You explore the rainforest from great heights. You zip line over 5 kilometres through stations and tree houses in the canopy of the forest. Pick-Up Services and lunch is included in the price.

Mae Ta Krai National Park covers and area of Chiang Mai and Lampang provinces. The total area is about 2,500 square kms. The park is located in Mae-On sub district. From Chiang Mai you take H1317 towards Mae-On, at KM21 turn right to H1006. At Ban Pao Sam Kha turn right and follow H1229, you will reach the checkpoint after 4 kms. then go for another 10 kms until you reach the entrance to the Park.
The mountains at Mae Takrai National Park rise to an altitude of 1,900 meters. Rainfall all year round makes the forest lush and green. The park has two waterfalls and you can hike to a reservoir that can be fished in and Phu Lnka Luang is the 5th highest mountain in Thailand. The park has a campsite but you have to bring your own tents.

Doi Saket Market is the most important vegetable and food provider in Doi Saket. You find all kinds of vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. Some stands have precooked dishes to offer. There are telephone shops around the market as well as cosmetics, stationary and shoes. Two liquor shops, ice shops and a pharmacy. Saturdays the market also has fresh seafood and clothes. Different from other markets in Thailand, most vendors open their stalls around lunch time.

Tesco Lotus is the Convenient Store of Tesco Chain. It is situated right on Doi Saket Main Road.

Co-op Mini Market is located at Green Gasoline Station on the Highway towards Chiang Rai. The Mini Market sells snacks and beverages, except alcohol as it is part of the gasoline station.

Jasmine Hills Lodge is a cozy bungalow place 2 kms outside from Doi Saket amidst rice fields. The 7 bungalows all come with aircon, hot water, bath tub, TV and fridge. The bungalows also have spacious private terraces. The Restaurant at Jasmine Hills Lodge offers, Thai, International and Singaporean Cuisine. Paul and Dolly your hosts from Singapore make you feel at home at once. Room Rates include breakfast for two. Baan Chai Thung Resort is located 2 kilometres outside of Doi Saket amidst rice fields. The bungalows all come with aircon, TV, fridge and private balcony. Breakfast is served in the little restaurant overlooking the swimming pool. Upon request, BBQs and dinner are served min. 6 persons. Each bungalow comes with a motorbikes you can use it at a fee of 3 Baht per km. Bicycles can be taken free of charge. Bu and Juergen and their team organise tours and travels.

Monn Phu Phrai is situated in the middle of the rainforest about 20 kms outside Doi Saket. The resort has a beautiful garden and the rooms all come with private terrace, aircon, hot shower, fridge and TV. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The restaurant offers à la carte dishes and buffets. A massage parlour invites you to relax in the lush tropical garden of Monn Phu Phrai. Taeng the owner speaks excellent German and quite good English. It is an asset to be mobile when staying here. The resort often has tour groups staying for one or two nights, so it makes sense to make a reservation in advance.

Tharnthong Lodge is situated in Mae Tarkrai National Park. The place is just perfect for chilling. The rooms are various sizes, some can accommodate up to 5 persons. The atmosphere in this mystic nature land is just wonderful. The restaurant serves great Thai food and is open for breakfast as well, which is included in the room rate. During summer months the stream running through the garden is ideal for refreshment.

HIM Restaurant is about 13 kms outside of Doi Saket on H121. The restaurant is set back from the road and the outside tables overlook the small lake. Aircon rooms are available as well. HIM Restaurant offers Thai- Chinese Cuisine with excellent service. Staff are very attentive and some of my favourite dishes are Thod Man Goong - fried shrimp patties, Yam Hua Phli - Banana Flower Salad, and the various soups.

Tarnthong Restaurant is located beautifully in Maekrai National Park and is part of Tarnthong Lodges. The restaurant offers tasty Thai dishes - my favourite is fried fish with herbs and Green Curry. A coffee shop is part of Tarnthong Restaurant. The best time to go is late afternoon. The light just before sunset is wonderful. However, take a jacket, the evenings up in the mountains are chilly.

Luam Chuang is a nice Thai roadside restaurant. The noodle soups and Khao Soy are excellent. Some days simple Thai dishes such as fried rice or Phad Kawprow Gai (minced chicken with basil leaves) are offered.

Pizza Plus is about 2 kms outside of Doi Saket on the road that leads to Bosang. Eve and Sine, the friendly Thai hosts do excellent pizzas. Pasta is offered and various appetizers as well as fresh salads. They have now added various Thai dishes to their menu as well as European delights, such as spinach pie with bacon and cheese. Pizza Plus is a meeting point for expatriates.

Locanda Doi Saket is about 1 km outside of Doi Saket at H118 towards Chiang Rai. The Restaurant is run by Swiss Italian Roberto and his wife. Pizza, Pasta along with various other Italian dishes are offered. Daily Specials are available.
