Chalets (Ta-Bag) with 2 rooms for 4 people each, 1000 Baht (2 people possibly 600 Baht), with private bathroom. Cottages (Ta-Boon) for 6 people, 600 Baht, with private bathroom. Bamboo Longhouse (Ruan Taew), 30 bad rooms equipped with 4 dirty mattresses each, 400 Baht for 4 people, roof is leaking; water only available in the mornings and evenings, electricity only in the evening. A small tent costs 100 Baht for 2 people, a large one 200 Baht for 4 people, without any sheets or blankets. Remember to bring torch lights. Camping place on Ao Makham (Tamarind Beach), only accessible by boat.
Food The food on Koh Tarutao is not worth mentioning for many years. In the restaurant you can get fried rice “without anything“ and some other Thai dishes from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. Eggs and toast for breakfast are not available, cold drinks and beer in the evenings are an exception. The small shop hardly sells any food except fish cans. The restaurant is not always open. Some guests were quite happy with the food. The tourist groups from the yachts have priority.
