By Bus: To Bangkok (201 km) second class aircon buses, every 30 minutes until 5.30 pm for 124 Baht, aircon buses every 45 minutes until 9 pm for 160 Baht, traveling time 3 1/2 hours. Only aircon buses go to Cha-am until 5.30 pm for 35 Baht and Phetchaburi for 45 Baht; hourly to Pranburi for 30 Baht and Prachuap Khiri Khan for 65 Baht in 1 1/2 hours.
More aircon and VIP buses to Chumphon, Surat Thani, Phuket and Krabi. VIP-32 buses from My Friend Travel (see page “Service”: travel agencies) go directly to Phuket, Phang Nga and Takua Pa (700 Baht) at 9.30 pm, at 9.40 pm to Koh Samui (700 Baht, including Express Boat), KoPhangan (750 Baht, including Express Boat), Krabi (750 Baht) and Hat Yai (800 Baht, change bus in Surat Thani), minibus (10 people) at 12 pm to Koh Tao (750 Baht, including speedboat).
By Taxis: To Cha-am 200 Baht, at night 250 Baht. To Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (224 km, 3 hours) 1,300 to 1,500 Baht (for example from a street stand on the corner Damnoen Kasem Road/Naretdamri Road), 1,190 Baht per person at Ken Diamond.
By Train to Bangkok: Fast trains to Bangkok Train Station (Hualamphong) leave at night, during the day only Sprinter 40 at 4.01 pm (arrives 7.45 pm).
To Bangkok Noii, local train at 11.28 am (arrives at 3.45 pm), to Bangkok by diesel rail car 262 at 2.10 pm (arrives 6.45 pm).
By Train to the South: Fast trains to all destinations in the South leave at night, during the day you can use only Sprinter 43 which leaves at 11.11 am and arrives at Surat Thani at 4.30 pm.
By Flight: SGA flies from the new airport in the north of the city, three times per day with 12-seater Cessna to BangkokSuvarnabhumi for 3,400 Baht, flight time 45 minutes (5,800 Baht return ticket).
