Cheap and delicious Thai dishes are offered at the night market (until about midnight). Its a very clean place and a popular spot for tourists. You can sit comfortably at tables and enjoy your meal. Especially recommended are fish dishes (in particular in front of the small 7eleven), but also other snacks such as satay and fresh fruits. The choices however, are more and more adapted to the western taste of tourists. If you keep right at the western end of the road you can discover more food stalls mainly selling food to local customers.
At Chat Chai market you can find delicious rice soup in the mornings and excellent Thai food during the day, especially seafood.
There are inexpensive Chinese restaurants, for example Khoung Seng located on the main road.
The restaurants situated on the seafront offer good seafood, but it is expensive. The beautiful terrace at the Sea Side above the beach is very family friendly and delicious food can be found, however the prices are higher in this location. In past years many restaurants have been established by European people, mainly German, Scandinavian or British. They advertise in the Observer.
