Local Transport in Klong Haeng

Motorbike Taxis

In  Klong Haeng most tourists make use of motorbike taxis, the handy motorbikes with side cars.

The best chance to catch one is close to the Al Aman Mosque. Or ask the front desk of your hotel to order one.

The price is 60 Baht to go to Nopparat Thara, 80 Baht to go to Ao Nang.
Songthaews

Pick-ups, so called Songthaews, go to Krabi and Ao Nam Mao, coming from  Nopparat Thara, they stop at the Al Aman Mosque every 30 minutes.




Taxis

Taxis are also available, none of them have meters though. Ask your front desk to call one.
The fixed prices are:
500 Baht to Krabi Airport,
300 Baht to Krabi Town,
500 Baht to Klong Muang,
700 Baht to Tup Kaek or Ao Tha Len,
2000 Baht to Koh Lanta,
3000 Baht to Khao Lak.
Transfers to Phuket Airport can also be arranged for approx. 2500 Baht.

 
Long tail boats

The long tail boats moored along the beach at Ao Nang or Nopparat Thara go to Rai Leh, for 50 Baht one way and to Koh Poda or Chicken Island for 300 Baht return. The boatmen wait until they have at least 6 passengers per boat.
Rent a Car

Most travel shops can organize a rental car for you. There is a Hertz agent at the road leading to Ao Nam Mao. Sunda Resort at Nopparat Thara works together with THAI Rent a Car. Check with your hotel's front desk for further information.

Rent a motorbike

Motorbikes can be rented in Ao Nang or through your hotel. Scooters are between 200 and 250 Baht per day depending on the duration of the rent. You need to hand in your passport or pay a deposit of 10.000 Baht.
