Hiking on Koh Tao There are some beautiful hiking trails through the hills and valleys where you can spot many butterflies. Bring a sufficient supply of water. Do not walk through coconut plantations when the wind is strong as people already have been hit by falling coconuts and leaves. The strenuous dirt roads to the bays on the east coast are recommended for hiking. A trail leads from Tanote Bay to the second highest summit (313 m) of the island where a tea house and a meditation center is located, or across the island passing Moonlight and Mountain View, to the west coast.
Sea Kayak – If you paddle along the coast with a kayak or canoe you can quietly look at the rocky shore with its amazing rock formations. Kayaks for rent cost about 100 Baht/hour or 500 Baht/day.
Fishing – Several places offer fishing trips. A special event is a night tour. It can be booked in Hat Sai Ri or Chalok Ban Kao for approximately 1000 Baht. The trip starts at 6 pm and the boat returns at midnight.
Other water activities such as sailing, banana boat or water skiing are available. Courses in Thai boxing, Yoga, or meditation are offered on the island. Motorcycles and mountain bikes for rent at many places. And do not miss out a real Thai massage.
