Mae Haad Town The main village on Koh Tao, Ban Mae Hat, lies on the southwest of the island and it is nestled in a picturesque bay with fascinating granite boulders at each side. The new piers also allow large boats to embark. Several restaurants, bars, small supermarkets, various shops, and a wat have settled in this dusty place. Furthermore, there are dive schools, ATM's, internet shops, travel agencies, a post office and an oversea telephone service. a lot of people coming or going and an uncontrolled growth of architecture contributing to a less cozy atmosphere.
