Many travellers don't even ever make it to the North. But if you have the time, you should go! The North is a little far out, yes, but with the new connection road from Thong Sala getting you there in less than 15 minutes, there's really no excuse anymore... If you are not in a hurry, the coastal road is much more recommendable, even though it demands a few more skills on the motorbike as it has some steep hills and narrow turns. Once you get to the North, you'll know why you went. There is an entirely different atmosphere here than in the South. Everything is very slow and quiet, Hat Rin seems like a different world. Once you've checked out Chaloklum with everything great it has to offer, go a little further still and discover Khom Beach, a hidden treasure. Take the coastal road back South in the late afternoon and find some breathtaking spots for catching the sunset!
