Ao Thong Restaurant is the middle one of the three beach restaurants and it has the least natural shade. However, it offers a very pretty seating arrangement in Ayutthaya style. The menu is displayed on the beach on 4 whiteboards. Prices are the same as in the neighbour restaurants. In the back a few bungalows offer aircon accommodation.

Oawthong Restaurant Goon and Gib is the northernmost of the three beach restaurants and it has ample shade under high casuarina trees. This may be the reason that it seems to be the most popular restaurant. The food also might be slightly more delicious, the friendliness a notch higher. There are aircon bungalows for rent behind the restaurant.

Cape Pakarang Boatyard Restaurant is situated at Coconut Beach between Cape Pakarang and The Sarojin. The large restaurant has 16 tables with view of the sea. Along the beautiful sandy beach there are many blue deckchairs which are free for guests patronizing the restaurant. Other deckchairs cost 200 Baht per day. The Boatyard Restaurant is a favorite among the foreigners living in Khao Lak area. The interesting history of the restaurant is written on one page of the menu. The access road passes the Kantary Resort.

Ao Thong Beach Bungalow belongs to the middle restaurant at White Sand Beach in the Khao Lak region. The 18 standard bungalows are situated 50 m behind the restaurant until the road. They are identical to the neighboring bungalows. They also have no mosquito screens and not enough windows to bring fresh air into the bungalows. The rooms are adequately furnished and are clean. From the terrace you may have a glimpse of the sea. The family Bungalow near the road has 2 units with 3 beds each for 2200 Baht. If rented together they cost 3800 Baht.

Oawthong Beach Goon and Gib offers 10 stone bungalows situated behind the restaurant which has the tables right on the beach. The rooms have aircon, hot water showers and a fridge. According to Thai belief no mosquitoes come into rooms with aircon, so no screens are necessary in the windows. For a private mosquito net no hooks are provided. Nearest to the road a family bungalow with 3 sleeping rooms, 3 bathrooms and a living room for 5 persons costs 5000 Baht.

Supaporn Elephant Tour has the same owner as Bang Pling Nature Resort. The gravel road turns off Petchkasem Highway about 4 km south of Bang Muang just after the bridge. There are signboards on the left and right of the road. This elephant trekking also offers elephant bathing in a nice lake in beautiful landscape.

Arguably White Sand Beach is the most beautiful beach of Khao Lak with fine white sand and crystal clear water, now decorated with many rows of deck chairs and umbrellas on private land beside the beach.

For many years thousands of tourists considered Ao Thong Beach or Oaw Thong Beach in the misspelled version the most beautiful beach in the Khao Lak region. A few years ago the owner of the lone restaurant beside Sarojin Resort distributed his property among his three children. Each of them started a new restaurant. One was called White Sand, and soon the whole beach became known as White Sand Beach. As now three families had to live from the income generated by three competing restaurants, the three owners had to up with some new ideas. So they built a few bungalows behind the restaurants, all in the same typical Thai style with air conditioning but windows without mosquito screens, and all for the same price of about 1500 Baht. Income was not enough, so a new idea was born: Rental of deck chairs and umbrellas along the beach on their own properties. So up to 5 rows of deck chairs now create the real holiday feeling for those tourists who need them for a perfect holiday.
