Noi, the widow of Gerd Serucnik, the founder of Khao Lak, built 36 new bungalows on her land at Bang Niang Beach, 80 to 140 metres from the beach. In their unfinished state they look quite crowded on this property. But Noi has proven before that she can create a popular resort in Khao Lak. For sure her guests will feel happy in these newly built bungalows. There is a swimming pool with ample ground around and a beautiful restaurant, too. The Fanari Khaolak Resort is situated about 80 to 200 m from the beach. It consists of two completely different wings located at the left and right side of Soi 2. The 3-storey hotel complex lies closer to the beach and it features 30 decently furnished rooms as well as a restaurant and swimming pool. The beautifully arranged bungalow wing lies just behind the quiet Soi 2 in a lush tropical garden, 17 double bungalows are set around the second pool and 8 rooms are in a 2-storey house in the garden, all are comfortably furnished. The Amsterdam Resort offers a variety of different bungalows and rooms, all of them come with private bathroom. The restaurant is located upstairs in the main building, it is opened all day. Ladda Resort is a very nice resort at Soi 4, 300 m from the beach. Ladda Resort consists of 8 rooms with air-conditioning in a 2-storey apartment house and 11 bungalows in a nice and quiet garden. A small swimming pool suitable for bathing and for children lies in the middle. The restaurant is right next to the road, but there is hardly any traffic. An Extrabed for small children costs only 100 Baht. Very family friendly facilities. Danish speaking owner.

The Sandy House lies 200 m from the beach. It is situated in a 3-storey town house and offers large clean rooms with air-conditioning, TV and shower/WC. Under Thai/English management. The owners run a small minimart on the ground floor.

It had twin beds, and aircon, which I didn't need, a basic but roomy bathroom, and nice big fluffy bath towels.... and friendly UK owner Michael, his wife, Nok, and his large Thai family - were all very friendly. Price, no breakfast, 800 Baht. That was for a single occupancy. Incidentally, I was able to book with them via email/online, the day before I travelled there. In high season, I would recommend phoning in your reservation, as their prices are very competitive."

The Garden is a new small resort with 6 bamboo bungalows in a tropical garden. The Garden is situated 600 meters from Bang Niang Beach in a quiet lane next to the big Monochrome Resort. The owner is from Belgium. Ariane takes very good care of her guests. The bungalows are very well equipped for this price, even with a fridge and water cookes and hot shower. They have a mosquito net, too. The terrace has some sitting furniture. The Garden is open in the Green Season.
