The trip to Koh Phra Thong involves an adventurous ride with a public longtailboat. -- The most common is from Khuraburi Pier. -- Another pier is at Ban Thung La Ong at the end of the 17 km road leading west through Ban Khun Ta. -- A third, less travelled alternative comes from Ban Muang Mai Pier in the north of Koh Kho Khao. -- If you stay in The Camp Resort on Thung Nang Dam Island you can make a tour to Koh Ra and Koh Phra Thong.
From Khuraburi to Koh Phra Thong
For Getting to Khuraburi check out here. From Khuraburi bus station take a songthaew or motorcycle taxi to Khuraburi Pier (8 km). The public boat to Koh Phra Thong leaves from the far end to the piers of Ban Lions and Ban Kiat Pracha. To either pier it takes about one hour (14 km). Another public boat makes the sometimes quite difficult ride through the channel between Koh Ra and Koh Phra Thong for Mr. Chuois Bar and Huts (20 km).
For app. 6000 Baht you may also charter a speedboat from Greenview Travel that takes you to any place on Koh Phra Thong.
