By Bus
All buses start and arrive at the bus terminal, tel. 075-210455, on Huai Yod Road. To Bangkok (862 km) 2nd class aircon-bus and aircon-bus at 8 am and 9.30 am as well as at 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm for 484 or 623 Baht, VIP-24-Bus at 5 pm and 5.30 pm for 965 Baht, traveling time 12 hours. To Phuket aircon-bus every 30 minutes for 257 or 265 Baht, traveling time 5 hours. The buses go via Krabi for 129 or 160 Baht in 2 ½ hours. To Khao Lak, take the Phuket bus and get off at Khok Kloi, traveling time about 4 to 5 hours, then take the bus in the direction of Takua Pa (50 Baht, 1 hour). To Phattalung non-aircon bus for 35 Baht, takes 90 minutes. To Nakhon Si Thammarat non-aircon bus for 78 Baht, aircon-bus 112 Baht, leaves from Thumrin Thana Hotel. To Hat Yai non-aircon bus every 30 minutes from 5.30 am to 4.30 pm for 84 to 118 Baht. To La-Ngu (for Pakbara) non-aircon bus for 56 Baht, aircon-bus hourly for 98 Baht in 2 hours, then continue to Satun by non-aircon bus for 74 Baht, aircon-bus for 140 Baht. By motorcycle taxi for 20 Baht to the bus stop. To Surat Thani there are several buses for 150 Baht (with air-conditioning for 170 Baht), traveling time 4 hours.
By Minibus
To Pak Meng Beach every 30 minutes for 90 Baht (100 Baht to the harbor and to the resort), taxis leave diagonally opposite. To Hat Yao Beach and to Chao Mai hourly for 90 Baht. To Koh Lanta from K.K. Travel & Tour during high season at 10.30 am, 11.30 am, 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm by minivan for 250 Baht via Ban Hua Hin (including two ferry rides) in 2 ½ hours traveling time to Ban Saladan; during low season this connection is only once a day at 12 am. Back to Trang at 7 am, 8 am and 12 am. Minibus charter costs 1,000 Baht. To Pakbara with Andrew Tour from the train station (at Chitlada Tour) at 11 am for 200 Baht. By minibus and boat to Koh Bulon for 550 Baht, to Koh Tarutao 500 Baht, to Koh Lipe for 800 Baht, by speed boat 900 Baht, to Langkawi via Tammalang Pier in Satun 750 Baht. Tickets available in all travel agencies. To Hat Yai from the bus terminal about every 30 minutes until 5.30 pm for 100 Baht, with Andrew Tour for 200 Baht, continue to Butterworth (Malaysia) per VIP-bus for 450 Baht. To Nakhon Si Thammarat for 112 Baht. To Surat Thani for 180 Baht, traveling time 3 hours. To Phuket for 450/500 Baht in 6 hours.

The taxi stands are marked in the map. To Krabi for 80 Baht (1 ½ hours), Phattalung 50 Baht, Nakhon Si Thammarat 70 Baht, Hat Yai 70 Baht, Surat Thani 100 Baht (air-con 150 Baht), Satun 80 Baht, La-Ngu 70 Baht. By taxi from Trang to Pakbara for 850 Baht.
Train
From Bangkok Express 83 at 5.05 pm with air-con sleepers in first and second class (from 1,419/823 Baht), arrives in Trang at 7.15 am, or Rapid 167 at 6.20 pm with sleepers with fan, arrives 9.51 am. To Bangkok Rapid 168 leaves at 1.25 pm, arrives at 5.05 am, or Express 84 at 5.20 pm, arrives at 8 am (from 503/325 Baht in second/third class).
Airplane
The airport lies 5 km south of the city. Nok Air flies 1x daily to/from Bangkok (DMK) for 1,182 to 1,462 Baht plus airport fees of about 700 Baht.
Boats
Pak Meng, 39 km west of Trang, offers good transportation to the islands. By longtail boat to Koh Hai for 500 Baht, to Koh Kradan 600 Baht.
