San Kamphaeng Hot Springs (ChiangMaiProvince) Rates: 40 Baht The San Kamphaeng Hot Spring is located in a nice park. The hot spring is cooled down to swimming temperature in the bathing houses and the swimming pool (extra fee applies). A stream runs along a part of the park and you can bathe your feet. Food stalls offer quail eggs and hen eggs that can be boiled in the hot spring, try a spicy Papaya Salad (Som Tam( with your eggs. Saturday Walking Street (SanKamphaeng) Sturday Walking Street in San Kamphaeng starts around 16.00 and closes at 22.00. The local vendors offer their handicrafts, fresh veggies, herbs, clothes,plastic ware and of course loads of food food food.....Make sure you get there before 18.00 and observe the National anthem at 6, when there is a three minute stand still as everybody listens carefully.

The total area is about 2,500 square kms. The park is located in Mae-On sub district. From Chiang Mai you take H1317 towards Mae-On, at KM21 turn right to H1006. At Ban Pao Sam Kha turn right and follow H1229, you will reach the checkpoint after 4 kms. then go for another 10 kms until you reach the entrance to the Park. The mountains at Mae Takrai National Park rise to an altitude of 1,900 meters. Rainfall all year round makes the forest lush and green. The park has two waterfalls and you can hike to a reservoir that can be fished in and Phu Lnka Luang is the 5th highest mountain in Thailand. Mae Kampong Waterfall (DoiSaket) Mae Kamphong Waterfall is just behind the small village Mae Kamphog. Easily accessible by car, you can already hear the water falling down when you get off your vehicle. It takes you about 5 minutes to walk there. Swimming in the ponds is possible. No entrance fee.

Doi Saket Hot Springs (DoiSaket) Doi Saket Hot Springs are about 10 kms north of Doi Saket in the village of Ban Pong Kum. The little park has been created by the local villagers around the hot spring. There are bath houses for rent where you can take a bath in the cooled down hot stream. (50 Baht per hour)A Massage parlour offering Thai, Oil and Foot Massage is also there. Simple Thai restaurants and coffee shops are located in the neat park. Doi Saket Hot Springs are hardly ever visited by tourists, if you want a glance of local live- it is best to go here on the weekends.

Tweechol Botanical Garden (DoiSaket) Rates: 80 Baht Tweechol Botanic Garden is part of Horizon Resort. The garden is situated on 114 acres of land (286 Rai)and displays 107 kind of palm trees, sukkulents and bromelias along with orchids and other tropical flowers. There is a petting zoo, a lake to paddle on and an artificial waterfall in the park. Horse riding is offered and a children´s playground is part of Tweechol Botanic Garden as well as a museum that explains the ancient Laana way of life and shows antiques of the old Laana Kingdom. The entracen Fee is 80 Baht and the rent for a bicycle is 30 Baht for 2 hours. Golf Carts can be rented at 300 Baht per hour. Balloon Flight Adventures (DoiSaket) Balloon Flight is located on the premises of Horizon Village Resort. Pick up at your hotel starts at 06.00. You will be served tea and coffee while the crew prepares the balloon. At 7.00 you take off. The flight takes you over lakes and streams through the mountains in the Doi Saket area. Temple >> Wat Phratat Doi Saket (ChiangMaiProvince) Wat Phratat Doi Saket is the main temple of the village. Majestically located on a hill the temple can be seen from far away. You can either take the stairs that lead to the top of the hill or the road that commences behind the market. The yellow songthaews also take you up there. You can also find a coffee shop and a massage place on the area. After visiting the main temple you can go further up the hill you get to the construction site of the temple´s extension. Not many people are up here. You can find cages with birds, rabbits and various other small animals. The new part of the temple is supposed to be finished by 2015.
