To Chiang Rai follow H1209 to Chiang Saen, then turn right until you get to the junction with H1 - turn left and follow it southwards to Chiang Rai. Alternatively you follow take H1290 towards Mae Sai until you get to the junction with H1, turn left and follow it until you get to Chiang Rai.
Buses - Minivans
Public buses leave from Chiang Saen to Chiang Rai. A minibus or songthaew will take you to the bus station.
Minivans leave from Chiang Saen to Chiang Khong and to Chiang Rai as well as to Mae Sai.
Songthaews
The samlors leave Chiang Saen, Chiang Khong and Mae Sai every hour during the day.
