Palms Hill Resort (ปาล์ ฮิลล์ รีสอร์ท) (PhangNga) Rates: 1,200 to 1,800 Baht The new Palms Hill Resort in the outskirts of Phang Nga Town is a very beautiful resort next to the limestone cliffs. The tropical jungle of these cliffs contains various wildlife, e.g. monkeys. Another attraction is the 3-storey viewpoint tower in the center of the resort. From the top floor there is a splendid view of the mountains encircling the town. Here you can relax with a tiny cup of healthy tea that is freshly brewed from a selection in glass containers. The rooms come in two varieties, bungalows in the back near the cliffs and a row house type with one or two floors. Both of them come with all modern facilities and are also very beautiful. To climax the great attractiveness of the resort there is also a beautiful spa with a nice swimming pool. The staff and the Manager, Khun Son, are very friendly and attentive. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is also well-known as Khlong Ton Khem Floating Market. Around 1866, King Rama IV commanded to dig Khlong Damnoen Saduak with a distance of more than 32 kilometers, connecting the Mae Klong River at Bang Nok Khwaek to the Tha Chin River at Pratunam Bang Yang. There are several small canals, so people in Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Sakhon can commute to visit each other conveniently by boat. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market was first known as a tourist attraction in 1967 in the picture of the floating market crowded with small rowing boats which contained necessary products for living. We could see tradesmen, who dressed in dark-colored clothes with a hat made of palm leaves like farmers, rowing boats to sell and exchange products in the period when the waterway was the main transportation route. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market opens early in the morning until noon. Eat Prasatsit Floating Market, where we still can see traditional ways of life, opens early in the morning until 8.00 a.m. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi is approximately 80 kilometers west of Bangkok.
